Springfield COB participates in one or two mission trips per year within the U.S., and one every-other-year outside the U.S.
Mission Work Within the United States
Mission trips within the United States take place one or two times a year.
These trips are part of "The Brethren Emergency Response/Service Ministries."
The focus of this ministry is to build hope and rebuild lives in disaster-stricken communities.
In 2008, we continued the recovery work from Hurricane Katrina in Chalmette, LA.
We have participated in projects in Florida, North Carolina,
Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Virginia in past years.
Mission Work in Other Countries
Mission trips outside the United States take place every two years.
They are focused around evangelism, children's ministries, and construction.
Over the years we helped to build churches in Haiti and Dominican Republic,
a community medical clinic in Honduras, and houses in Mexico.
We shared the Gospel with the Quechua people living in the Andes Mountains of Peru,
and ministered and fellowshipped with children in Lima and Huaraz, Peru
at child-care centers. In 2007, funds were provided to complete the
Saul Cantaral Child Care Center in Lima, Peru, a center operated by AMG International.
Just this year our mission team traveled to Peru.
